The Idaho Black Community Alliance (IBCA) is more than a nonprofit—it is a movement. A catalyst. A collaborative community effort to empower, educate, and elevate diverse populations across Idaho. With a focused commitment to uplifting Black-owned businesses while embracing people of all backgrounds, IBCA exists to create lasting pathways to opportunity, healing, and holistic prosperity. The organization stands at the intersection of culture, economic empowerment, and community development, serving as both a bridge and a beacon for those who have historically been marginalized.

In a state where Black communities are often underrepresented, IBCA is a voice, a platform, and a source of transformation. Through strategic programming, grassroots organizing, and strong partnerships, IBCA is shifting the narrative—not only for Black Idahoans but for all communities seeking connection, dignity, and growth.

      A Brief History

The Idaho Black Community Alliance was founded in response to the growing need for culturally relevant support and representation within Idaho’s Black population. What began as a community gathering and informal networking effort has grown into a structured nonprofit organization with statewide impact.

Recognizing the lack of visibility and access afforded to many Black Idahoans—especially in areas like business ownership, healthcare, cultural recognition, and youth development—IBCA emerged with the clear goal of being a solution-maker. Its founding members envisioned a place where identity and progress coexist; where history is honored, and futures are shaped.
