ABOUT US

The Idaho Black Community Alliance (IBCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to transforming communities through advocacy, education, cultural celebration, and connection—with a strong focus on uplifting Black Idahoans while welcoming and serving individuals of all backgrounds. IBCA exists to build a more unified, thriving Idaho by championing underserved voices, equipping youth, supporting entrepreneurs, and creating space for healing, purpose, and progress. Our work is rooted in both vision and action—committed not just to talking about change but actively being the change.

Our Work: Strategic Pillars of Service

IBCA’s mission is carried out through six strategic service pillars that ensure a holistic and sustainable impact:

1. Business Support & Economic Empowerment

We empower Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs across Idaho with tools to grow, scale, and lead. Through our statewide business directory, branding workshops, vendor training, and access to banking support, we’re helping business owners build wealth, visibility, and long-term stability. Networking events and training sessions connect business leaders to each other—and to new opportunities.

2. Youth Development

Through our flagship Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) and educational partnerships, we invest in the next generation with mentorship, leadership training, field trips, and civic engagement opportunities. We believe in raising confident, capable, and connected youth who are ready to lead today—not just tomorrow.

3. Health & Wellness

We address the social drivers of health that impact Black and underserved communities. From mental health and housing stability to chronic illness awareness and counseling services, IBCA offers culturally responsive resources that prioritize whole-person wellness. We also champion education around Alzheimer’s, breast cancer, and blood donation through focused partnerships and community campaigns.

4. Events & Community Engagement

We host powerful, purpose-driven events that foster culture, unity, and joy. Whether through Black History Month celebrations, Juneteenth festivals, youth mixers, or service-driven events like Impact Day, our gatherings build connection and create space for education, healing, and empowerment.

5. Corporate & Community Partnership

IBCA helps organizations and corporations engage authentically with diverse communities. We collaborate on community engagement strategies, team integration efforts, and philanthropic campaigns that result in real impact—not just optics. Our partnerships are rooted in trust, alignment, and long-term vision.

6. Give Back & Philanthropy

Our give-back model ensures no one is left behind. We provide scholarships, business micro-funding, workforce development, and emergency housing support. We act as both a resource connector and a direct line of support—removing barriers and meeting people at their point of need.
