Program Overview:


The Idaho Black Community Alliance (IBCA) Ambassador Program aims to cultivate a team of passionate community representatives dedicated to promoting IBCA’s mission of advocacy, education, culture, community, and connection. Ambassadors will serve as community liaisons, event advocates, and organizational representatives.


Responsibilities:


Community Engagement:

  • Represent IBCA at community events, workshops, and forums.
  • Conduct outreach to increase community awareness and participation in IBCA programs.
  • Foster relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders.
  • Event Support:
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing IBCA events, including the Boise Soul Food Festival, YEP programs, and cultural celebrations.
  • Set up and manage event booths, provide information to attendees, and distribute promotional materials.


Advocacy and Promotion:

  • Actively share IBCA’s mission and upcoming events on personal and organizational social media platforms.
  • Participate in advocacy campaigns and awareness initiatives.
  • Leadership and Mentorship:
  • Mentor and guide youth participants involved in YEP and related programs.
  • Serve as a role model for community service and leadership.


Qualifications:

  • Passion for IBCA’s mission and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous volunteer or community service experience is a plus.
  • Social media proficiency and comfort with public speaking.

Time Commitment:

  • Minimum of 5-10 hours per month, depending on events and community needs.

By signing up as an IBCA Ambassador, you agree to indemnify the Idaho Black Community Alliance (IBCA) and its partners against any claims, damages, or liabilities that may arise in connection with your participation in the program. IBCA is not responsible for any incidents, accidents, or liabilities incurred during your involvement with the organization. Furthermore, you understand and agree that by volunteering with IBCA, you waive your right to bring any legal action or lawsuit against IBCA or its affiliates for any reason.
