IBCA Volunteer Opportunity Overview

The Idaho Black Community Alliance (IBCA) welcomes dedicated volunteers who are passionate about supporting our mission to promote advocacy, education, culture, community, and connection. Volunteers play a vital role in helping us create meaningful programs, host impactful events, and strengthen community engagement across the Treasure Valley and beyond.


VOLUNTEER

  Areas of Support

 

  Event Assistance

  • Help with setup, registration, and breakdown at IBCA-hosted events
  • Greet and direct attendees, provide event information, and distribute materials
  • Serve in roles such as ushers, runners, or hospitality support


  Community Outreach

  • Distribute flyers and materials to local businesses and organizations
  • Assist with phone or email outreach to raise awareness about programs and events
  • Support IBCA’s presence at community booths and partner events


  Administrative Support

  • Help with basic tasks such as data entry, organizing materials, or prepping mailings
  • Provide support to staff or committees working on special projects


  Youth & Family Engagement

  • Assist in activities involving youth programming
  • Help with family-centered community events and workshops



Volunteer Role Summary

IBCA Volunteers support a variety of community initiatives and events throughout the year. Whether assisting at an event, providing behind-the-scenes help, or supporting outreach efforts, volunteers are an essential part of the IBCA team.

  Qualifications

  • Willingness to serve and represent IBCA’s values with integrity and professionalism
  • Friendly and reliable with good communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively
  • Prior volunteer experience is helpful but not required
